Ratnapith College offers modern facilities and services to its students. Information about the College Library, accommodation, sports grounds, Health Centre and more can be found throughout our website.

The College has a well managed, well stocked, and fully computerized central library having more than 16,415 collections of text and reference books. Latest publications in the field of Economics, Education, Political Science, History, Philosophy, Literature etc. are continuously added to the collection. Besides books, the Library also subscribes to a good number of periodicals and research journals pertaining to different subjects taught in the college. Popular magazines, various daily and weekly regional & national newspapers etc. are also available in the reading room of the library. It also has a humble collection of digital resources in the form of CD-ROM, DVD-ROM.
The entire collection of the library have been converted into machine readable form using a sophisticated library management software SOUL **, developed by the INFLIBNET Centre, an autonomous body of the UGC. The library is fully automated providing various housekeeping services to the users using computers such as automated issue & return of Books, access to online catalogues (OPAC)*, information retrieval using Boolean search operators, author, title, subject searching, database searching, bibliographic services, access to serial database etc. Besides, the library also provides Internet facility over a number of networked computers through LAN to the users of the library for accessing various learning resources on Internet.
The library has the facility to access various online e-resources through a UGC sponsored consortia viz. N-LIST (National Library and Information Services Infrastructure for Scholarly Content). Users of our library can access more than 3,500 online e-journals, more than 74,000 e-books covering a wide range of subjects in the field of social science, humanity etc. The library is also organizing user orientation programme for the freshers in order to make them familiar into the library systems and procedures.

All departments’ posses a departmental library with good collection reference books for students and faculty members.

The Cell tries to create awareness regarding career prospects, self employment, and entrepreneurship development among the students and helps the students in finding and selecting various channels of employment opportunities. The Cell organizes career related seminar, talks etc. on regular basis for the benefits of the students by inviting competent persons.

The Health Care Cell of the College organizes free health check-ups every year for the students of the college. It also organises seminars and lectures on health issues. The Co-ordinator of the Health Care Cell is Gul Raushanara Begum, Asstt. Professor, Deptt. Of Assamese.

The Women Cell of the College works for the general welfare and safety of the girl students. Generation of awareness on gender specific issues through various workshops and seminars is also one of its foremost concerns. Building a gender friendly atmosphere where girl students can engage in academic pursuit is the avowed mission of the Cell. The Convenor of the Cell is Mrs. Manjula Das, Asstt. Professor, Deptt. Of Assamese.

Seminars and Workshops, which are integral part of the teaching-learning process, are held by the departments at regular intervals. Recourse Persons both from our College and outside are speakers in such Seminars and Workshops. inside Multi disciplinary seminars are also held in the college and scholars from various fields are invited.

Various Departments of the College organize educational tours with a view to expose our students with cultures, history and also to familiarize them with the flora and fauna of the country

The College publishes a number of Magazines to encourage the students and faculty in various literary activities. The college magazine Ratnapitham is published annually by the Students’ Union of the College. A yearly News Bulletin namely “the Horizon” is published every year to highlight various activities of the college. Besides, to develop the literary and intellectual quality of the students, all departments of the college bring out Wall Magazines viz. Dapon by Assamese Deptt., Democracy by Political Science Dept., Memory by Education Dept, Reflection by English Dept., Economic Vision by Economics Dept., ChanarDinga by History Dept., and Jibon Darshan by Philosophy Dept. of the college.

An annual lecture is being arranged by the college authority on the Foundation Day of the College on 1st September every year in memory of Sarat Ch Singh, former Chief Minister of Assam, and architect of the college. Renowned person from the field of social sciences and humanities is invited to deliver the Memorial Lecture.

There is Students’ Aid Fund to provide financial assistance to the poor but meritorious students. The amount of assistance to a needy student is decided by the committee of the Aid Fund.

Ratnapith College Women’s Hostel is situated within the college campus which is under the supervision of Hostel Supervision Committee. The quarter of the hostel superintendent lies at the vicinity of the hostel. The hostel has well furnished spacious and well-lit rooms. The food catered is hygienically prepared and nutritious. Facilities like newspapers, indoor games and a television set are also provided. At present the hostel accommodates 24 boarders who are given admission strictly on merit.

Ratnapith College has a sports complex namely Ratnapith Krirakhetra with a playground 40000 sq.ft. With the help of well wishers a good portion of the gallery has been completed. The playground is used for Football, Cricket and Athletics.

The Alumni Association of Ratnapith College came into being since 2004 with the noble intention of helping the institution to the fulfilment of its mission. The Association meet several times after its formation and took some important decision to help the College in its growth. The Alumni Association, Ratnapith College Chapar has undertaken the programme of constructing the College Boundary Brick Wall.

The Colege has been emphasizing on the different events of indoor and outDoor games for the students. They are encouraged and offered scope to join the inter college competitions organized by the GU. . A series of competition in games & Sports are conducted by the Student’s Union especially during the College Week festival, which result excellent sports career to participate in and out side the state, under the super vision of experienced teachers of this College.

The College has made provision for remedial classes for providing academic assistance to needy students within the college hours.

The College has made provision for providing coaching for entry into services for Degree students by experts as well as college faculty.

There is a Grievances Redressal Cell to look after the grievances of the students. A compliant box has been installed for the purpose. The primary objective of the cell is to redress the grievances of the students as far as practicable so that a congenial academic ambience can be created.

The College has a well-furnished canteen facility to provide food to the students and teaching, non-teaching staff at a subsidized rate. The canteen is accommodated in a house measuring about 2100 sq. ft. along with a kitchen.

The Disaster Management Cell of the college works in creating awareness among students and the college community in general about the havoc caused by manmade and natural disaster. The Co-ordinator of the Sk, Hadayetullah, Associate Professor, Deptt. Of English. Departments of the College organize educational tours with a view to expose our students with cultures, history and also to familiarize them with the flora and fauna of the country.

The College offers opportunities to the students to participate in several extra curricular and Co-curricular activities such as N.C.C., N.S.S., Bharat Scout & Guide, Sports, Debate and Symposium, Cultural programmes etc. by actively involving themselves in various events which are recognized from time to time by the Gauhati University, Ratnapith College and other organizations such as Assam Science Society (Chapar Brach). Moreover the Ratnapith College Wing ofN.C.C., N.S.S. and Scouts are the best avenues for providing the opportunities to the students to develop their leadership qualities, self-confidence and discipline.

National Scholarships, State merit Scholarship and the scholarship for the students belonging SC/ST/OBC/MOBC categories are available. The students qualified for this scholarships one to apply within stipulated date as notified by the authority. Various Departments of the College organize educational tours with a view to expose our students with cultures, history and also to familiarize them with the flora and fauna of the country.

Dr. Minati Kangsabanik Memorial Scholarship is instituted from the last year by the donation given by educationist and husband Arun Kangsabanik to the most meritorious student who completed B.A. final examination. The annual award carries Rs. 10000/- and a certificate. Besides, the college will introduce certificate of merit along with an amount of cash. Students securing highest marks in each department (major) will be awarded the merit certificate.

Ratnapith College Magazine entitled “Ratnapitham” is brought out every year, which is edited by an elected editor and an editorial Board. Secondly there are a number of wall Magazines displayed by different units, which provide the opportunity to enrich the literary talent of the students.
