The Student Welfare Cell, Ratnapith College constantly striving to maintain international standards of excellence in academic output, equally in the holistic emotional, mental, and physical well-being of its students. Over the many years of its existence, the college has provided all its students a dedicated academic as well as career guidance, and encouraged faculty mentorship of individual students. To advance assistance and supports to the students in need, and to give easy access to adequate support for social, financial, mental and physical disabilities and challenges, the college has established Students Welfare Cell (SWC). The Student Welfare Cell in Ratnapith College have been constituted keeping in mind the welfare and to extend continuous care for students. The cell guides the students who need help to solve their personal and career problems and provides all sorts of help such as financial, counselling etc. under the direct supervision of management. Mission Our mission is inclusive growth for everyone by encompassing everyone into the mainstream of society. Vision Our vision is to support students for their all-round development and help them in the time of crisis. Objectives • To treat mental and physical incapacities as not merely a pathological problem but as a more complex situation that requires the care of specialists who offer constant support. • To make awareness about ways to cope with academic pressures that often lead to mental health difficulties, and to assist students with the academic concerns that emerge from dealing with any short or long-term health condition. • To help combat the general social taboos associated with anxieties and depression on campus, and to foster a positive outlook among students. • To establish the college campus as a student-friendly safe space that is sensitive to physical and mental disabilities. • To offer practical and constructive support to students in adjusting to a new environment as well as social or personal challenges that are specific to their age group and circumstances. Student’s Welfare activities of Ratnapith college focus on the overall development of students. The college conducts several activities through various clubs & cells which enable the students to nourish their personality and career. The college forms a Student’s Union every year which organizes all the extra- curricular activities for each academic year. The college provides all basic amenities like clean drinking water, comfortable furniture, spacious class rooms with proper electricity facility, modern computer labs with internet connection, separate toilets for boys & girls, locker rooms, hostel for boys & girls, library with books, journals, newspapers & periodicals, etc; We have dedicated teachers who are distinguished by their commitment to the achievement of their students. They conduct the regular classes, Power Point presentations, class tests, assignment presentations, model examinations, timely interactions with the parents and providing counselling to students who need more attention. The college is well equipped with the necessary state-of-the-art infrastructure to conduct the theory & practical classes and facilitate all types of cultural activities, including dance, music, painting, etc; We conduct Annual Sports competitions, cultural/traditional festivals like Bihu, Mahram etc; The College encourages participation of the students in State and National level sports activities organized at different institutions. College conducts Annual Sports Meet whereby our students get a platform to exhibit their talents in sports like cricket, football, volleyball, basketball, badminton, table tennis, carom, chess, and athletics. The star batch system and remedial classes helps the weaker students to improve their academic performance. The college encourages student’s participation in Workshops, Seminars, Conferences, Cultural activities, Cooking competitions, Management Fest, and various competitions organized by the other colleges across the country. The expense for the same is taken care by the college itself. We celebrate the National Days, International Yoga Day, Social activities such as Blood Donation Camp, Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, Charity works, Youth Skill Day, Bhasa Gaurav Divas, Matri Bhasha Day etc; which make our students more responsible towards the society. The NSS (National Service Scheme) and Youth Red-cross units take care of all the social activities of the college. The Alumni Association of our college helps the students in placements and also extends their hands in charity works towards the needy people of the society. Students are given awards & certificates during the Annual Day Celebrations for their excellence in academic and other activities. The Training & Placement cell of the college arranges the On-Job-Training for all the students in India & abroad and conducts campus interviews whereby ensures that all the eligible students are placed in the internationally branded hotel groups. Career guidance classes are also conducted. The NCC Cadets organise Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Tree Plantation and Cleanliness Drive, Amrit Brikshya Drive, celebrates National Days, Raising Day, Puneet Sagar Abhiyan, provide voluntary services in different social and cultural gatherings etc.. Add-on courses conducted by the college enable the students to learn additional ‘certified short-term courses’ in core subjects of hotel management. College Magazine ‘Vision, is published annually under an editorial board consisting of students of Literary Club who have a flair for writing. The Anti Ragging Cell, Women Anti-harassment cell etc; protect the students from various issues and provide a space to address their complaints. The college has established ‘Grievance Redressal Mechanism’ whereby the students can address their complaints through the link available in the college website. The Internal Complaint Committee is also in place.
